PTG Shock
darn... so many revision papers... good lar, can practise more, can do well in exam (hopefully)... 粱静如的《丝路》蛮好听的,可能我会在考试时期重复听这首动听的歌曲。i had a great shock today coz XXX given revision papers for us... according to my mom, she talked to XXX during the parent-teacher gathering today and XXX only told her that she has given us revision papers so as to prepare for the exam... more shocking is that she asked my mom whether i had told my mom all about what happened in school (refer to previous post)... my mom replied a NO and XXX told my mom that she did not give OP for term 4 coz OP is actually forcing people to speak up during lessons... somehow i do agree that OP is redundant, coz it's just forcing people who don't wish to speak up to speak up... anyway, just for people out there curious about how on earth to cure dengue fever, coz it's becoming more frequent in singapore now...
Pegaga Juice - Cure for Dengue
You may have heard this elsewhere but if not I am glad to inform you that pegaga juice is a natural cure for dengue fever. As dengue fever is rampant now, I think it's good to share this with all.
A friend of mine had dengue last year. It was a very serious situation for her as her platelet count had dropped to 28,000 after 3 days in hospital and water has started to fill up her lung. She had difficulty in breathing.
She was only 32-year old. Doctor says there's no cure for dengue. We just have to wait for her body immune system to build up resistance against dengue and fight its own battle. She already had 2 blood transfusion and all of us were praying very hard as her platelet continued to drop since the first day she was admitted.
Fortunately her mother-in-law heard that pegaga juice would help to reduce the fever and got some pegaga leaves, pounded them and squeeze the juice out for her. The next day, her platelet count started to increase, her fever subside. We continued to feed her with pegaga juice and she recovered after 3 days!!! Amazing but it's true. It's believed one's body would be overheated when one is down with dengue and that also caused the patient to have fever.
Pegaga juice has cooling effect. Thus, it helps to reduce the heatiness in one's body, thus the fever will go away. I found that its also good when one is having sore throat or suffering from heatiness.
Those of us staying in Subang Jaya are lucky as we can get Pegaga juice easily from the Penang Cendol stall in Giant! One cup is only RM1. Tomorrow I will buy a cup for a patient in Assunta and urge him to try it.
It's great if such natural cure could help to ease the sufferings of dengue patients. Furthermore it's so easily available. Just go to market and ask the makcik who sells ulam and they usually have pegaga. Blend them and squeeze the juice! It's simple and miraculously effective!!

while i'm creating this post, i'm trying to keep my eyes open even though it's only 10 in the evening... i'm struggling to keep awake coz i slept at 2 am last night... what happened last night was that i was trying to complete my maths hmwk, but i was distracted by my computer and got caught in the games... at 1, i decided to give up on maths and prepare to sleep until i realize i had to do chinese compo... rushed the whole compo within 45 min, just to find out today that it is due on friday... yar, quite frustrating, but at least i know that i'm able to complete my compo within the time limit given during the exams, and i have one less work to worry about coz i've completed it... today was really a bad day... i had this feeling that something would crop up or anything of the same sort, and something really did happen... morning: flag-raising, nothing much, just that the "commander" (can't find another word to replace) was quite serious and i find it amusing coz not many people would take the flag-raising so seriously... reading period: nothing happens... first period: nothing happens... second period: nothing happens... third period: happens to be consortium assembly, so chinese lesson had to be shifted to thursday... boring assembly, only the class ranking and projects competition results kept me awake throughout the 40-min session... nothing happened until... ...... the last period, XXX (i choose not to disclose any further details)... u know what i'm going to ramble about... as everybody knows, promotional exams coming, need to have revision... then XXX was talking about what he/she felt after the consortium assembly... something about the class ranking of the class (2nd), and he/she attributed the failrue to obtain first place was that his/her subject pulled down the grade... then he/she just "did nothing" during the period, and i was staring blankly at nowhere anyway... want to find out more about him/her, go find it out yourselves... have to start revision, or else i think there wouldn't be much time left before the exams... darn, i just realized that i have to prepare for mrp oral defence on 6 oct... pic of the day: white mountain national forest, new hampshire

something about guatemala... The Maya civilization flourished in Guatemala and surrounding regions during the first millennium A.D. After almost three centuries as a Spanish colony, Guatemala won its independence in 1821. During the second half of the 20th century, it experienced a variety of military and civilian governments as well as a 36-year guerrilla war. In 1996, the government signed a peace agreement formally ending the conflict, which had left more than 100,000 people dead and had created some 1 million refugees.

went to see 2 expositions in suntec today... so good to have these 2 expos coz they are some of my fave expos and they occur in this auspicious time when i need a retreat from homework and revision... comex 2005 and world food expo 2005... comex 2005 is a computer and IT fair... this is where many major computing companies try to get as many people to buy their products as possible... i always never fail to visit this expo coz can get to see the latest gadgets and see whatever i need to buy... today is the last day, though i didn't know that... this time round, nothing much to buy, except that i bought black printer catridge and a 1gb thumbdrive, coz my current thumbdrive only 128mb... the 1gb thumbdrive is lighter than my current 128mb thumbdrive, see how technology advances... world food expo 2005 is a food fair (what else can it be)... nothing much, just a bunch of stalls releasing smoke from cooking the food and hundreds of people gather around the seats provided and eat... something interesting, agar-agar mooncakes... didn't try it before, bought some back... i wonder how they taste like... pic of the day: a beach at bournemouth, somewhere in uk...

today is the last day of term 3... now going to pia like siao alreadi, coz eoy exam coming... no exemptions, and still need to revise last year's work... worse still have to go back for lessons during the short 1-week september holidays... i think this is no better than "o" levels... got back term progress report... at least it was better than i expected... msg 2.00, should try harder during the next term, coz it's going to be revision, revision and more revision... probably have to cut down the frequency of blogging here... ;( nevertheless, just another week passed... something must be terribly wrong today... english teacher went in class and told us about the teachers' day card by the class... saying that it's not considered a card and at least buy a decent card... hello, we are students, we don't earn money, we don't print money, we don't get any salary for studying so hard... it's already good enough that we even bothered to get the card done...... whatever... i don't bother about these nitty gritty things in life... coz they do not worth to be treasured... | Your Blogging Type is Unique and Avant Garde | You're a bit ... unusual. Superstar
the grand finals of 绝对 superstar just ended not long ago... 伟联 won the competition... at least my family's $2 not wasted... he really sang well, though there were some minor errors... kelly was in a good position to win it, but i think it's "auntie power" in singapore that helped kelvin to win today... input: "auntie power" definition: the behaviour of typical singaporean women from ages 50 and over, and these people have nothing better to do other than going for karaoke sessions at the nearby rc and voting for people like sing oldies the results were quite expected since from the report about the cd sales of kelvin and kelly... if i'm not wrong, a typical singaporean auntie was interviewed and she said she bought 10 of kelvin's singles... very typical, they got the money, they can do anything to gain what they truly want... conclusion: this is singapore... pic of the day: llangollen canal, whitchurch

Maths Frenzy
now is already the september holidays... but the holidays are not really holidays, coz still have to clear holiday homework from all the subjects, except chinese coz there's nothing much to do about it... still have to go back to school for holiday lessons... yesterday, i spent the whole day trying to complete all the maths assignments... it's really head-racking to complete work from a single subject for the whole day... in addition, today's holiday lesson was maths, and had to do "o" level paper june 2005... tmr still have to continue with the paper, sigh, so much maths... now i think i have to try to be less calculative... pic of the day: british telephone box: ask when i doubt... unless potentially dangerous...

Expo Mania
went to see 2 expositions in suntec today... so good to have these 2 expos coz they are some of my fave expos and they occur in this auspicious time when i need a retreat from homework and revision... comex 2005 and world food expo 2005... comex 2005 is a computer and IT fair... this is where many major computing companies try to get as many people to buy their products as possible... i always never fail to visit this expo coz can get to see the latest gadgets and see whatever i need to buy... today is the last day, though i didn't know that... this time round, nothing much to buy, except that i bought black printer catridge and a 1gb thumbdrive, coz my current thumbdrive only 128mb... the 1gb thumbdrive is lighter than my current 128mb thumbdrive, see how technology advances... world food expo 2005 is a food fair (what else can it be)... nothing much, just a bunch of stalls releasing smoke from cooking the food and hundreds of people gather around the seats provided and eat... something interesting, agar-agar mooncakes... didn't try it before, bought some back... i wonder how they taste like... pic of the day: a beach at bournemouth, somewhere in uk...

End of Term 3
today is the last day of term 3... now going to pia like siao alreadi, coz eoy exam coming... no exemptions, and still need to revise last year's work... worse still have to go back for lessons during the short 1-week september holidays... i think this is no better than "o" levels... got back term progress report... at least it was better than i expected... msg 2.00, should try harder during the next term, coz it's going to be revision, revision and more revision... probably have to cut down the frequency of blogging here... ;( nevertheless, just another week passed... something must be terribly wrong today... english teacher went in class and told us about the teachers' day card by the class... saying that it's not considered a card and at least buy a decent card... hello, we are students, we don't earn money, we don't print money, we don't get any salary for studying so hard... it's already good enough that we even bothered to get the card done...... whatever... i don't bother about these nitty gritty things in life... coz they do not worth to be treasured...
